THE ANNUAL TRAINING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

PURPOSE
  1. To provide incentive to owners of GSDs to exhibit in Performance Trials and Tests.
  2. To give breeders  an incentive to encourage puppy buyers to train and show their dogs. 
  3. To stimulate more exhibitors to show their dogs in breed and perforamnce events so that there wuold be more multi-titled GSDs.
  4. To provide the union of or "bridge the gap" between breed exhibitors and performancecompetitiors to common goals 
  5. To demonstrate to the public the usefulness of the GSD and that they can compete successfully in all types of competition
GUIDELINES: 
  • To qualify, the dog must have been awarded a ribbon at an AKC point show or a Koreklasse I
  • Points for AKC titles will not accumulate for the owners of the sire or the woners of the dam if the owners are not members of the GSDCA or untilt heir applications for memebership has been received by the GSDCA. POINTS WILL NOT BE AWARDED RETROACTIVELY.
  • Points for GSDCA, GSDCA-WDA, DVG or USCA degrees will not accumualte for the owners of the sires  or the owners of the  dams if the owners are not members of the GSDCA or until their application for membership has been received by the club.
  • Owners of the sires and dams would be required to provide the awards chair with the following information: 
    • A copy of the AKC, GSDCA-WDA, DVG and/or USCA certificate (which they must acquire from the progeny's owner)
    • Names and registration numbers of the sire and dam
  • All Titles earned during the calendar year will count for the "Annual High Score Award"
  • Results will be published in the  GSD Review swiththe following information:
    • The top ten sires and damn will be lsited with their owners and the names of their titled progeny
    • All sires and dams that have accumulated a minimum of 25 points will eb listed with the names of their owners
  • A plaque (or suiteable award)will be presented at the National Specialty Show to the owners of the highest scoring Sire and highest scoring Dam ( ie 1996 awards would be prsented at the 1997 National)
  • Beginning with the 1991 National, a plaque (or suiteable award)will be presented at the National Specialty Show to the owners of the Sires and Dams with the highest accumulation of training achievement points. THese points will be cummulative from 1988.

        In keeping with the parent club board total dog concept, the 
champions are participating  in performance and producing performance dogs.

the October performance issue of the Review, along with other information 
about the program.    Please keep sending in the titles of progeny who earn 
performance titles.  Thank you all who participated in this year's program.
